Dear reader,
I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a beautiful Happy New Year, from the Jamila Wilson team (alias me, myself and I 🎶)
I hope 2026 brings you happiness, love, new experiences, growth, and above all a deeper belief in yourself, the kind that gently pushes you to start taking steps toward your dreams.

On my side, I’ll be honest: some days I feel overwhelmed. Preparing the launch of my very first collection comes with so many moving parts. All the work getting my pre-order campaign ready, media and press lists, creating content regularly, readjusting patterns yet again with my pattern maker, sourcing zips, buttons, threads and labels, working with my manufacture to create the perfect pieces for you, finding new interns, writing this newsletter… and the list goes on.
All this while also working for the chateau creating documents, brochures, answering emails…
But on the 24th of December, something shifted.
I found myself thinking about the Jamila I was exactly one year ago, at the end of 2024.
I was spending Christmas in Ireland with my family. It was a warm and joyful atmosphere, yet, if I’m completely honest, I also felt a little lost.

Over the years, I slowly grew my vintage brand and, without even realising it at first, built an incredible community of women around it. My pieces found their way to you online, to clients in France and all over the world, and they were sold in pop-ups, at the Carrousel du Louvre and Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
We even built and created a photo studio with my father, which allowed me to photograph all the vintage pieces myself and be truly hands-on, productive, and close to every item I shared with you.

And yet… my childhood dream had always been to design my own clothes. Clothes that enhance women’s natural beauty, that make them feel confident, feminine and strong.
But I doubted myself.
Was I legitimate enough? Did I have enough experience? And truthfully, I think I was scared.
So in January 2025, I was applying for fashion jobs, telling myself I should probably work for other brands before daring to create my own. And now… in January 2026, I’m posting an internship offer for someone to work for my brand.
How crazy this is, a full 360 in a year !

By the way, if you, or someone you know, is currently looking for a communication and marketing internship for a small fashion brand (mine 🤍), at a very key moment : the preparation and launch of the pre-order campaign for my first collection. You’ll find all the information about it on this link.
It would mean so much to me if you passed it along. ❤️
People don’t talk about this enough, but often the hardest part isn’t the work, it’s daring to begin. Fully. Honestly. Without all the answers.
Dreams feel huge. We don’t know where to start, which steps to take, or if we’re even doing it “right”. Life works the same way. None of us knows exactly what’s coming, but we do know what we choose to do with what’s in front of us.
Once you take that first step, once you decide that no matter how, when, or where, you’ll put your heart into what matters to you… movement begins. Things shift. You learn, you adapt, you grow. You realise you never needed the full map, just the first direction.

After a full year of work, I can finally say it:
I became who I wanted to be : I am a fashion designer and have learnt and am still learning so much along the way.
I’m creating clothes with intention, precision and care, pieces designed to truly flatter women’s bodies, to help them feel beautiful, feminine and elegant, at any age, in any body.
And soon (very soon I hope), I’ll be launching my first collection.
So if I can leave you with one thing today, it’s this: Take this moment to reflect on your 2025, on what you’ve done, what you’re proud of, and the times you allowed yourself to simply enjoy life.
If this newsletter can inspire you in someway, I would love for it to encourage you to take those first steps toward your dreams, and above all, to trust yourself.
I wish you the most beautiful festivities and precious time with your loves ones.
With all my heart,
Jamila Xx
